A major manufacturer of fresh egg pasta has grasped the opportunities and benefits of the circular economy by giving new life to its scraps and using it to produce energy.
The company’s aim was to verify the possibility of valorising its organic waste by evaluating the market and sales opportunities, rather than having no profit from its management.
What were the results obtained?
- Thanks to the activities of Sfridoo’s technicians, the company was able to allocate its fresh pasta scraps to biogas plants.
- The company was able to classify its waste as a by-product, consequently eliminating its organic waste production on the annual accounts.
- With the support of Sfridoo’s expert team, the company optimised its production process and managed to obtain income from the sale of organic waste.
- The difference between the costs and incomes of the operation allowed the company to generate 15,000 euros in income, making its business even more profitable.
